I was born and grew up in Addis Ababa the capital city of Ethiopia. Amharic is my first language but I also speak Tigrinya, my Grandma's first language. I lived in Cairo for 9 years where I became fluent in Arabic. I was able to practice my English in Cairo at that time too. I have now lived in the UK with my monoglot English husband for 18 years.

I have been interpreting Amharic and Tigrinya professionally for 8 years. I have worked with medical professionals in the NHS, local authority housing and benefit officers. I also work solicitors in and out of court and in Doncaster HMP dealing with immigration, child custody and compensation claims. I have also done simultaneous interpreting supporting an attendee at a training presentation and workshop.
